"The Divine is the sea. All religions are rivers leading to the sea. Some rivers wind a great deal. Why not go to the sea directly?"

"The Avatar is love and only bound by love." - Mother Meera.

About Mother

"God is silent. Everything comes out of silence. In silence more work can be done. The true experience of bliss is without words." - Mother Meera
Mother Meera
is an embodiment of the Divine Feminine, who gives silent Darshan, a spiritual blessing of love and light, by touch and sight, to thousands of people all over the world. Mother offers an un-denominational way,to receive a transformative Divine Light, free from any allegiance to a guru or organization.

Who is Mother Meera? It is more easy to say who she is not:

  • She is not a Guru, as she doesn't accept disciples. nor does she give spiritual teachings or techniques.
  • She is not the founder of a religion or a new philosophy, she has not come to convince the minds of people.

Who Mother Meera is:

  • She is an embodiment (Avatar) of the Divine feminine, the Divine Mother. The female side of the Divine is regarded as the dynamic aspect of Godhead in Indian culture. Thus this aspect is essential for transformation. The Mother thus represents the consciousness that is behind manifestation, the phenomenon, an eternal becoming while the male principle is the noumenon, the state of absolute Beingness. Both are ultimately one.
  • She brought down a new light from the Supreme (the Paramataman Light) in order to effect a transformation of consciousness, she gives this light without instruction in complete silence.
Mother Meera was born as Kamala Reddy in a small South Indian village of Chandepalle (Nalgonda district, Andhra Pradesh) on Dec 26 1960, to farmer parents. Already at the age of 6 she experienced Samadhi (a state of complete spiritual absorption) for a whole day. She would frequently see lights and have an inner contact to higher beings (devas). When she was about 12, her uncle Mr. Reddy, who has had visions of her since a long time recognized her, and started to take care of her.

When she was 14 she came to the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, and was guided internally by Sri Aurobindo and the Ashram Mother, Mirra Alfassa, who had both left their bodies already, to the higher worlds of different Divine powers, Gods and Goddesses. In 1979 she brought down, along with other Divine beings a light-power from the Supreme level, which she called the Paramatman Light, which she now disseminates, in order to help human beings to unfold their own inner Divinity. She says:
"We have to try to reveal the light which is hidden in us as a bud. It must blossom like a flower. The Paramatman Light is everywhere, but when one needs it one must know how and for what to use it. Like electricity, it is everywhere, but one must know how to activate it. I have come for that."
In 1979 Mother for the first time traveled abroad, and in 1981 she settled in Germany (directions) . Since then an increasing nummer of people have received her Darshans, which are given in total silence and free of charge. Since 2005 Mother is traveling to give Darshans also outside of Germany (itinerary).

Darshan

Darshan is the blessing that Mother Meera gives. Darshan is a sanskrit word that means 'seeing, vision or revelation' and means to be in the presence of a higher Being, for example an Avatar. The word Darshan denotes being in such a presence, rather than any specific procedure. Meeting a higher Being is always considered to be Darshan.

Mothers Darshan has two phases:

Kneeling down ( Pranam), while Mothers holds the head of the person, for a few seconds. During this time, she says, she unties karmic knots. Mother Meera says about it:
"On the back of the human being is a white line that runs from the toes to the head. In fact, two lines start from the toes, rise along the legs, join at the base of the spine and then become a single line reaching to the top of the head. This line is thinner than a hair, and has some knots in it here and there, which divine personalities help to undo. It is very delicate work and great care has to be taken to undo the knots, as there is danger for your life if the thread is broken. When I hold your head I am untying these knots. I am also removing other obstacles to your sadhana, practice."
Sitting up on ones heels, and looking into Mothers eyes. At this point she looks deep into the soul and sees where she can help. She penetrates the person with light, as she says. Mother says:
"I am looking into every corner of your being. I am looking at everything within you to see where I can help, where I can give healing and power. At the same time, I am giving Light to every part of your being. I am opening every part of yourself to Light. When you are open you will feel and see this clearly."
Darshan can also 'happen' at a distance, by an energy-transfer in a moment of grace, for example as a result of a prayer, through meditation, or simply the thought of it - here there is no formal procedure. About Darshan at a distance Mother says: "You can receive the Light anywhere and at any time...If you want to see the Divine, why don't you ask Him directly?..You don't have to be near me physically to do my work."

Mother though recommends to do Japa, the remembrance of the Divine, whenever possible, in activity, whiledoing routine work, or by sitting down in meditation, or prayer.

Mothers teachings

Mother does not have a specific spiritual path. She is a Mother to all, not just a specific brand of disciples. Therefore she also has no specific teaching. She has Ashrams, but they aren't traditional Ashrams, where people do spiritual practises, rather they are focal points, which serve to facilitate her Darshans, but people living there lead independend lives and work in the world, and do their own practises, if they whish. Yet Mother gives certain rough recommendations for spiritual life.

The most important of these recommendations is to do Japa, which means repeating slowely or in thought a phrase or word denoting the Divine for the practitioner. It simply means to remember the Divine whenever possible. The phrase or word can be a mantra, or any other word that means the highest ideal for the person, for example the name of God. But Mother does not give mantras herself. A person may choose a mantra with which he feels connected, which resonates with his heart. The word could simply be 'God', or it can be a traditional mantra, like 'OM', or any religious phrase. The main idea is that one turns with all ones heart to the Divine (or whatever concept one feels comfortable with)

Mother also advises to offer everything, good or bad, without judgment to the Divine. Mother says:
"To offer everything to the Divine is surrender. To give our lives to the Divine is surrender. Simplicity is surrender. When we are simple the ego will dissolve by itself; when we are simple the answers will come. Always to remember, no matter how great we are, that there is something greater - the Divine - is surrender. Not to be egoistic is surrender. To be humble is surrender."
Mother Meera wants that people bring spirituality into the world, in order to transform it from within with her light. She says:
"Nothing must be avoided. Those who love me will work with everything in the world - all the darkness and all the difficulties. Do people imagine I do not work, or that the realized man does not work? Divine work is the hardest work, and it is without end. I am asking people to take on the whole difficulty of matter and of reality. I have come in a body to show that this is possible."
The light that Mother gives is not just for the higher mental bodies, but also for the lower vital and even the physical body:
"I give Light to the mental, vital, and physical bodies."
We should not stop at a partial realization:
"Realization of the soul is not full realization. What I mean by realization is realization of Paramatman, not the atman. Realization is of the total Godhead, not a part."
